Playing in Paradise

Happy Friday my Paradise friends!!  Thank You for taking a minute out of your busy schedule to come and check out what we have for you this week.

I was lost the minute I saw the challenge for this week (been busy with camping and waited till the very last minute to do my card)...  I had all the colors, but couldn't quite figure out how I was gonna do my layout.  Top that off with.... which color will go with what.  The colors are beautiful, but I think my problem was that, mine are not the same shade.  Instead... I used my Alcohol Inks with Alcohol Blending Solution on photo paper, then cut my butterflies with Spellbinders die cut.

More cards for you!

You will notice that most of my card will have this new look.... I love 5 X 5 card, but it's a waste of my Paper Trey Ink paper to do one.  So I came up with this idea... I trim my paper so it will be

10 X 8.5 and then cut it in half to be 5 X 8.5.  I then scor it at 5, leaving me with 3.5.  Using a DP to cover the rest of 3.5 side to become even with the other side.  Sounds too much work for you? It is... but I sooo dig this new look.

Sparkly Birthday Cards

This is a scheduled post... and it's Sunday.... I'm hoping by the end of this day my bathroom will be done.  And I will spend next week cleaning and organizing my new renovated bathroom.  Hmmmmm.. that sounds really good to me!

7th Birthday Party

My little one turned 7 last month!  Her actual Birthday was the 11th of April, but we were so busy that we didn't do her party till last weekend.

For her cupcakes she requested flowers as the main decoration.  She actually asked for 6 flowers per cupcake..... which is made of royal icing.  She loves them!!! I don't think our dentist will be happy about that though.  I was able to convince her to do three instead. 

Here's a close up look of the icing flowers.  I used tip #233 for the grass.

Playing in Paradise #65

Happy Friday my Paradise friends!!  I can't believe it's May.... pretty soon we'll be busy with camping.  My girls are sooo excited that camping season is finally here.  Lots of work for me though.... the first initial set up is always a bummer, but after that will be a breeze.  I'm actually looking forward to it.... there's about 8 families that we camp with and it is never dull.  It will be nice to see them again.

Happy Friday my Paradise friends!!  Not that great here in Calgary.... cold and rain!  And we will be enjoying all of that while we are at the zoo field trip. I can't believe I'm saying this....but I would rather have the snow than the rain.  At least with the snow you have a higher chance of seeing the sun. Rain is just gloomy and depressing. Wow! How's that for a Happy Friday?

Birthday Cards

I am finally able to post some cards for you... I made them a couple of weeks ago for my regular customer who always order Birthday cards for the whole family.  Total of  15!!  Of course I knew about it since January, but didn't start them till a week before the due date. Here's the first 3 cards.

Reno

Just an up-date with our reno....

We finished the hardest part.... moving all the pipes to accommodate the new shower stall

We decided to get new vanity...which is good since we haven't done the floor yet.

my tiling job... I guess when you buy your tiles from a hardware store, the tiles are not all the same size. there's 1/8" difference....you would think that's nothing, but by the time you do four tiles together the gap is almost 1/2".

And of course with all the reno....you'll have one messy place.  This is what our bedroom looks like now...or should I say how it has been for a while now.

I hope it's Happy Friday for you!!  Not so much here in Calgary.... we got some snow!   Been very busy with our reno... we've been tiling our bathroom (hubby the cutter and I'm the tiler) we've done around the shower and tub, hoping to do the floor tomorrow.
